    Touched Down!

    By Paula Carroll | January 29, 2009

Well here I am – surfaced at last. Slept off the jetlag, and enjoying my first ever visit to Boston. Unlike the vast majority of Irish people I have not visited the USA that much – nor am I that familiar with the Irish immigrant communities in the East Coast cities. So I’m getting a great kick out of the New England landscapes around Winchester on the outskirts of Boston, and basking in Dunleavyesque hospitality!

Lovely and unusual session in Conor Keane’s last Sunday. It was so nice to meet musicians like John Culliney and hear the delicate music coming from him and Susie Cox on concertina and Conor on the box. Lovely also to hear Sean and Dara – Conor’s son and daughter (14 and 10) on concertina and box. Lots of you have e-mailed and commented on how sweet that set was. And Michael O’ Connell’s “Spailpin a Run” has to have been a highlight. Hope you enjoy the podcast!
